1 in 3 American families reports experiencing diaper need.
No Child Wet Behind is a 501c3 dedicated to awareness, education and the donation of diapers to needy families with infants and small children.
When a family struggles to, or is not able to provide diapers for their child, the family is affected both physically and emotionally.
Programs exist to assist families with basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing, but surprisingly, diaper need is not supported by any government program.
No Child Wet Behind, began as a local diaper drive and fundraiser with a 5k run when owners of Northeast Doulas, a New York based Doula agency learned of the struggle needy families were having keeping their babies clean and dry.
During the month May doula business owners in 20+ U.S. cities will be hosting “No Child Wet Behind” events. Each event will include a diaper drive to benefit a local charity, a 5k run and a 1 mile family fun walk with activities to be enjoyed by the entire community.
What started as a small local event has grown into a not for profit organization that is now responsible for initiating 20+ diaper drive/fundraiser events throughout the nation hosted by independent doula businesses.
These events will take place during the month of May 2017 and it is anticipated that this number will more than double by 2018. Each participating doula business has chosen a local beneficiary to distribute the collected diapers.
Diapers will be collected through local sponsors, diaper drop off locations and can be donated on the day of the event. The diapers will then be gathered and brought to the beneficiary’s location.
